I will never leave the Catholic Church because of the homosexuality issue, but it does give me pause in defending Her and encouraging others to consider becoming Catholic . What are we to do?
If there is a holy, authentic Catholic priest within driving distance of your home, attend Mass at that parish. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer such priests. Interestingly, the Missouri Synod Evangelical Lutheran Church is more Catholic in our city than any of the three Catholic Churches, When you attend any of the three Catholic churches, you won't hear any pro-life, pro-family homilies, but you will hear about caring for "marginalized" gays, lesbians, and transgenders, as well as how the current Administration is unjust in not supporting open borders and illegal immigration. If you have young children, what kind of preaching do you want them exposed to? Also, a number of priests who served at those Catholic churches were later found guilty of having abused countless teenage boys. Again, as long as the Lavender Mafia is in control and Catholics continue to support them financially, I don't expect much to change,
The Roman Catholic Church has been infected and infested with Homosexual Abuse by the Brothers at St Vincent De Pauls Boys Orphanage in Dundas Street Sth Melbourne Victoria AU as far back as the 1950s the Whole System is Sick from Head to Toe 🤯 some things never change😖🤬
Technically, celibacy refers to one's state in life; if one is single (as opposed to being married), then de facto one is celibate...but not necessarily chaste. The issue is chastity (or lack thereof) as well as emotional maturity and healthy identification of masculine identity. While one doesn't "choose" their sexual orientation (it feels like one is "born gay" although that in itself is a fallacy), they do choose their behavior. Many afflicted with same-sex attraction need to be encouraged to discover the source of their wound and seek healing through prayer, healthy same-sex 'disinterested " friendships, and sometimes solid orthodox Catholic therapy. "Gay priests " (understood as those who promote the gay lifestyle and values) need to be laicized. We need chaste men in the priesthood. Period.
Most of the priest predators I have met with have admitted to having been abused when they were young, often in the seminary. Many of them were groomed and felt befriended and loved, hence they never reported what happened to them as abuse. That's why when they later came on to a high school student as priests, they may not have seen their behavior as a form of sexual abuse. Most of these predators had no feeling of being "different" or "gay" before entering the seminary, although I do know a few cases where a person engaged in homosexual behavior without having been groomed and abused. The LGBTQ community would like people to believe that they were born that way and have gotten some countries to impose penalties on counselors who may help them explore what led them to be and act the way they do. The reason bishops cover up for a lot of predators is because they groomed these priests when they were seminarians. Because the Church allowed this to happen, I believe the Church should remove these priests from ministry but still support them financially because their lack of seminary oversight turned a lot of innocent seminarians into sexual predators. Men who enter seminaries knowing that they are homosexuals after being sexually active and who later get into trouble should be dismissed without any form of compensation, medical benefits, etc. This distinction is not acknowledged because the bishops themselves - like the pope - do not want to admit that they are homosexuals.
Men who live with ssa in a religious context should be in a monastery with men who do not struggle with ssa, where therein they can find healing and become right-ordered, living a penitential life -- a contemplative monastery without an outside apostolate. Men who cannot do this successfully should be exclaustrated. Healing from ssa is a decades-long process especially if you've lived in the gay life. But where there's repentance and grace, there is reparation and healing. Pedophilia is a different situation. I like your take on what you think the Bishops should do. We can't continue making excuses for these men.
Thanks, Father Gomulka. Jesus said: 'I will make you fishers of men' (Matthew 4, 18-20.).
Unfortunately once the priesthood becomes heavily gay we are fishing for vocations in a very small pool. No wonder that only 10 men recently entered diocesan seminaries for the 22 dioceses in England and Wales. How many of the 10 will be ordained in 6 years time?
We have gone from 4 seminaries in 2010 to 2 today:
Oscott (north east edge of Birmingham) which had a plague of gay cliques.
Allen Hall, aka Alice Hall, in central London.
Oscott will probably close soon, so Alice Hall will be the last seminary in mainland Britain.
The last ordination I went to (in 2007) was of a guy who was visibly as bent as a straight banana. He is still in the priesthood, but in a job which was specially created for him. In 18 years, how many straight young men has he encouraged to join the priesthood? He did not have to support LGBTQ campaigns or wear a rainbow cassock. His orientation was too obvious.
Ireland is down to one seminary. The former straight Archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin, refused to send his seminarians there. He ended up sending them to The Irish College in Rome which he felt was not infested with homosexuals like Maynooth. The seminary situation is in dire shape in the U.S. as I document in: www.gomulka.net/Seminaries.pdf
Fellow Catholics, how do we keep the faith? We really should not ignore the problems (and problems w a troubling pope), but we're not to be schismatics. I have been a Christian for 45 yrs, a Catholic for 3....
I hope you can find a good, holy, straight priest who pastors a Catholic parish within driving distance of your home. Unfortunately, they are becoming harder to find. Often, you will know the good ones by their preaching and the way they interact with their parishioners. Straight priests are generally pro-life and pro-family. They often appreciate being invited over for dinner and celebrating family life with their parishioners.
I agree someone needs to clean house but it shouldn’t be anyone like the thrice divorced, philandering, morally bankrupt, fiscally bankrupt, abortion financing President we have.
ALL of you need to read more unbiased history of the RC church. Start by reading the one time Vatican's OWN Biblical scholar , the deceased Fr Malachi Martin, who was laicized by his own request.
Read about the False Decretals of Constantine or "The Donation of Constantine" and who perpetrated them
"The forgery was used by the papacy to claim worldly power" Then pick up your Bibles and read what Jesus said about his kingdom on earth ! Purchase a copy of the 'Didache' ( many can be found on 'Amazon' and even online by the Catholic site " New Advent".)
Compare and contrast just what the Apostles taught the early Christian communities ( and they are being discovered by Archeologists in more and more excavations ) just how they taught the laity should compensate and treat the visiting Apostles ( the first Bishops and priests) compared to how the same are treated today ! BTW there were no Cardinals and I do not see how any Cardinals today can and will choose a Donald Trump like Pope, because like the rest of the clergy, the majority are homosexuals.
The Christian Church was ONE in the beginning. Corrupt French Cardinal Humbert initiated the division with the Eastern Church along with other corrupt French Cardinals in the Papal court.
As a sex abuse victims' advocate who has seen the harm done by predators that has even led some victims to take their lives, I'm particularly made at the bishops and priests who groomed these predator priests when they were young, innocent seminarians. The two closeted gay young priests with whom I served at my first assignment were both later found to have been abusing our altar boys. They both attended high school seminaries where I believe they were "turned "during their period of psychosexual development. I wondered, had I gone to one of those seminaries instead of attending a co-ed high school where I went to proms and took girls out on dates, might I have been turned into a homosexual predator thinking that what I was doing involved "friendship" and not abuse? Once those young men were turned, they felt compelled to stay, be ordained, and live in the closet without their parents, family, and friends ever knowing what they were doing behind closed doors.
I was born Catholic and will die Catholic. I am 9th of 10 kids; Irish Catholic from urban environment. Four of my brothers and I served active duty US military. Went to parochial school 1-12 and received my MBA from a Catholic university via GI Bill. I don’t care much about who the pope is or what he says. My primary relationship is with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And any adult who molests children is going to Hell for eternity.
Dear fellow veteran, Isn't it ironic that governmental leaders like VP Vance speak and act more authentically Christian than the pope, bishops, and many priests? I just hope that there is at least one good priest left where you live. A woman I baptized 49 years ago who is married with 7 children has to drive one hour and fifteen minutes each way to attend Sunday Mass celebrated by a straight, holy, pro-life, pro-family priest (even though there are three Catholic Churches within 10 minutes of her home). Bishop Strickland whom the pope sacked for addressing the problem of clerical sex abuse and homosexual misconduct reminds people of what you wrote, i.e, that our faith is in Jesus Christ and not the institutional Church which, unfortunately, lacks Christ-like leadership today.
Yes, when the Pope is not acting like Christ. Francis is not the only complicit and corrupt homosexual to occupy the throne of Peter. Pope Leo X (1513-1521) and Pope Julius III (1550-1555) were both sexually active homosexuals during the Protestant Reformation which they helped to bring about. For example, Pope Leo X (Giovanni di Lorenzo de' Medici) who excommunicated Luther in 1521 was said to have been elected because the conclavists were looking for a candidate who would serve a brief pontificate. The cardinals knew Medici was a homosexual and they elected him, Pope Leo X, believing he would die soon as a result of an anal fistula caused by "unsafe sex." It was also during the Reformation in 1550 that the conclavists elected Giovanni Maria Ciocchi del Monte who took the name, Julius III. A sexually active homosexual like Leo X, Julius III was reported to have “shared [his] bedroom and bed” with 15-year-old Innocenzo Ciocchi Del Monte whom he made a cardinal at the age of 17.
Because the pope really only matters when making a proclamation that is to be infallible; and they hardly ever do that. I pay attention to my local parish priest. He seems like a humble and good guy.
Thank you Father Gomulka, another great article. As heterosexual Catholics, how do we address this evil that is plaguing the Church. Should we join for example, the Eastern Orthodox Church or has the Orthodox Church also been infected with this Satanic Virus? In any event, I pray as you've stated that our next Pope is a "Donald Trump-type pope."
Interestingly, most mainline Protestant churches like the Roman Catholic Church are pastored today by homosexuals unlike Eastern Rite Catholic Churches, Orthodox Churches, and Evangelical Protestant Churches. Before 2014, Eastern Rite priests in the US were forbidden to marry which caused them to have as many predator gay priests as the Roman Catholic Church. Today, more Eastern Rite Churches in the U.S. are being pastored by married Eastern Rite priests. I also find it interesting that no one has written how the ordination of gays and lesbians in the mainline Protestant churches has resulted in fewer, and fewer heterosexual mainline married Protestant ministers. I hope you can find a good, holy, straight priests in your area, especially if you have children at home.
No, on this president's day, the Church needs a Lincoln pope to abolish abortion (slavery's twin) (Not president quack speed (see momanddadmatters.substack.com)
I agree with you that the "Church needs a Lincoln pope to abolish abortion (slavery's twinn)," but remember, gays (like Francis, Cupich, McElroy, etc.) and lesbians believe that "LGBTQ rights and abortion rights are inseparable." That's why Francis, Cupich, and McElroy have gone on record as saying that pro-abortion Biden should not be denied holy communion. You'll note too that none of these homosexual prelates said anything positive when both Trump and Vance were very supportive of the March for Life immediately after the inauguration. You would never find them marching for life or praying outside of an abortion clinic. Not one of them asked Biden to pardon the 60-70 year olds who were imprisoned by Biden's DOJ for praying at an abortion clinic. Closeted homosexual clerics psychologically have a hard time being concerned about both unborn and born children unlike straight bishops and priests who actually sacrificed having a wife and children to serve Christ and His Church.
Yes! Homosex priests are a thumb in the eye to marital chastity, and that is why they can't be ordained (even if chaste, they can't pastor marriage!) (See momanddadmatters.substack.com/eugenics-letter for much more on this, and why Trump too is a thumb in the eye to prolife witness).
We laypeople should not hesitate to ask priests to preach Humanae Vitae every week for the fifty years that they didn't.
I will never leave the Catholic Church because of the homosexuality issue, but it does give me pause in defending Her and encouraging others to consider becoming Catholic . What are we to do?

We have a wonderful 40 yo priest born and educated in Poland. So right now, we are in good shape.
Did he tell you? "There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who are Polish and those who wish they were!"

Destabilizing is spot on

Start by really punishing pedo priests rather than treating them. Excommunicate them like the vile devils they are.
That needs to be cleaned out!

It certainly is as my linked article in the first paragraph makes clear. See: https://starrs.us/what-exactly-are-army-values/
Ya, faggots, ChoMos, Satanists! They need to burn about 40% of their “priests”, and make the other 60% watch!!

Christ commands us to burn them alive! Nothing lower than a pedo homo “priest”!
God Bless you for making your way through that mess!
Thankyou for telling the truth of what's going on in the church. Homosexuality is destroying the church and cutting off the grace of God.
