This is very discouraging, but to some degree, I think we, the laity, can take some of the blame for this. After the 1969 imposition of the Novus Ordo, we blindly accepted a Church that steadily erased all of its disciplines, made Mass attendance a banal exercise in merely showing up and was increasingly led by spineless priests and bishops who tolerated everything and enforced only one thing: a total supression of Tradition. To be Traditional slowly became the only sin left in the Church.

Most Catholics LIKED this change. They LIKED it that the Church required nothing from them. They LIKED the lack of discipline. They LIKED the easy-breezy tone of the Novus Ordo. They LIKED the comfort of a Church that essentially sent the message that you can define your own morality.

Now we get to live with the consequences.

You are right to a degree, but remember a lot of abusive priests came from the pre-Vatican II era. I don't think that Novus Ordo is responsible for this, but more of the liberals getting a free hand in the world, the Catholic Church notwithstanding. It's terrible that this has taken place, but it has happened before. I have faith the Holy Spirit will take charge and clean up this nightmare. He has a better way to handle this corruption than I will ever know!

Dear Monsignor Gomulka,

Brother, your courage as a Navy Captain Chaplain and Monsignor, ordained by Saint John Paul II, shines like a beacon in these dark times. Your fearless exposé of the homosexual subculture in U.S. seminaries, standing for truth like a Watchman (Ezekiel 33:6), echoes the Lion of Judah’s roar (Revelation 5:5). You’ve faced the fire—losing your endorsement for confronting evil —yet you press on, exposing Satan’s false light (2 Corinthians 11:14) that blinds the Church. Your fight for men like Anthony Gorgia, cast out unjustly , mirrors God’s justice (Micah 6:8) and His call to test the spirits (1 John 4:1).The world groans (Romans 8:22) with calamities—Myanmar’s quake, Gaza’s famine, Iran’s border threat —but your voice pierces the darkness, calling for repentance (Luke 13:3). Like Pahlavi’s Cyrus-like hope (Isaiah 45:1), you herald a path to renewal, standing with Israel’s covenant (Genesis 12:3). The New Jerusalem’s rod (Revelation 21:15) awaits the few who find the narrow gate (John 14:6, Matthew 7:14). Psalm 18:2 declares, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.” Lean on Him, Brother—your work shakes Satan’s grip, and the faithful stand with you.Keep wielding the sword of truth (Ephesians 6:17). Your labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). The Lion of Judah will crush the wild asses (Matthew 7:19), and your witness lights the way. Semper Fi, Monsignor—God’s got you, and so do we! OOOOH-RAHH!With prayers and respect, Your Brother in Christ, Cpl Dan

It bears repeating--as long as Prevost lets Tobin, Dolan, McElroy keep doing what they are doing, and the Vos Estis cover-up mechanism stays in place, Prevost has next to no credibility.

Regarding the food-stained letter from Dolan, I ask: did it also smell of cigar smoke? That is an accessory to his grandstanding.

I support former seminarian and fellow Catholic New Yorker, Anthony Gorgia. He is truly a brave soul who experienced the spiritual & cognitive dissonance of ongoing sexual abuse of his fellow seminarians at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. Ironically, Gorgia was appointed by Cardinal Timothy Dolan of NY in 2017 to attend the NAC, but when Seminarian Gorgia blew the whistle on Vice-Rector of the NAC, Fr. Adam Park (who had been ordained by Cardinal McCarrick). Gorgia’s thanks for alerting the Cardinal about the “toxic environment” at the NAC was to get a food stained letter back from Cardinal Dolan of New York effectively kicking Gorgia out of the NAC and shutting down his future of becoming a priest - because he refused to be complicit with the ongoing abuse - of vulnerable NAC seminarians. A history of abuse that Cardinal Dolan knows very well. He was the rector of the NAC in Rome from 1994-2001.

You are very, very well informed, especially when you wrote about Dolan’s food-stained letter to the Gorgia’s. I wish other New Yorkers, especially from Our Lady Star of the Sea on Staten Island were as supportive as you are. God bless you and yours!

Thank you. Unfortunately, Cardinal Dolan has closed two parishes that meant a great deal to me and he hounded the good pastors who were in his tight-fisted way.

Gene, this article describes exactly how and why I was never ordained and asked to leave the seminary years ago. When Michael Rose’s book came out, I had the opportunity to talk with him on the phone. I told him his research and conclusions were spot on accurate. It is completely telling that not a single one of the three hundred and fifty priests you wrote to for comment have not responded. That says it all. My advice to any young man interested in the Catholic priesthood is to go to the CMRI or the SSPX. To my knowledge, both have only straight men with high morals and ethics according to the pre-Vatican II antichurch.

I belong to an FSSP parish (on the Left Coast of all places).

Their priests are totally aligned with the Magisterium of Holy Mother Church and are deeply devoted to Our Lady.

Maybe consider contacting their headquarters in Pennsylvania. Their North American Our Lady of Guadalupe seminary is in Nebraska.

and those "children of the devil" in clerical garb--- would not sneeze at the mental and spiritual suffering of those who were given vocation by God himself, yet, such vocations are being actively destroyed by the so called bothers ...and sometimes "sisters" in "Faith" Wow to those who admit their hand into this destruction: I say, Hell is your pay! so all of you fake priests and bishops, enjoy while you can as Hell is waiting for you!

Additionally, straight men were always mostly conservative and shunned Modernism. They also were castigated back in my seminary days for praying the Rosary.

As an evangelical looking into OCIA, I am disturbed by the influence of the homosexuals in the church. I understand that they are not the church, per se, yet their influence in the church culture cannot be denied. I’m still reluctantly on the fence.

I would urge you to look into the Orthodox Church before you make your commitment. Tradition is everything in Orthodoxy. The vast majority of the parish clergy are married - to women......

I just did a Google search and saw a photo of an Orthodox priest outside a "pride center" with pride colors painted on the building. There's also the Orthodox priest who held a baptism for a child of two men who think they are married.

There are exceptions to the rule, and the priest whose photo you saw may be one of them. Your latter reference is about Abp. Elpidophoros, the top dog at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of the Americas. He’s a downright heretic and the biggest embarrassment there is to Orthodoxy in this country.

Nonetheless, the vast majority of Orthodox clergymen are straight, and the monks are celibate.

i am NOT discouraged!! Jesus is and will continue to clean up humanity, and He always starts with us - His church. The seminary in the diocese of Charlotte NC is booming, and you've got a very masculine, humble man running that show - Fr Kauth. This is FAR from over, God has NOT forgotten His Bride!!!

Thanks very much, Father Gene. There might be minor quibbles about the catastrophic seminary statistics you mention. You say that there are two seminaries left in England. As Bill Clinton would probably say, that depends what you mean by "two" and "seminary".

Allen Hall (aka Alice Hall) survives as a stand alone seminary in central London. But what about Oscott, in the north east corner of the Birmingham urban sprawl?

"Oscott College, the Catholic seminary of the Archdiocese of Birmingham, and Maryvale Higher Institute of Religious Sciences (HIRS) are delighted to announce that they are joining forces.  From September 2025 Maryvale Higher Institute of Religious Sciences (HIRS) will formally become a part of St Mary’s College, Oscott CIO but separate from the seminary."

https://www.oscott.org/articles/a-new-chapter-begins-oscott-and-maryvale-hirs-unite-for-the-future-of-catholic-education

I guess these two partners have enough theologians and philosophers to explain how they are united but still separate....

Obviously the end of Oscott's existence as an independent seminary after 190 years has absolutely nothing to do with those totally false allegations of gay cliques.....

Although I am not a subscriber, I have been reading your posts regularly.

Horrendous and despicable are the stories you have exposed throughout.

I share your longing for a reformed clergy.

We all know how incremental is any spiritual change in a person. It is seldom dramatic. It is the same with institutions. Hierarchical organizational and institutional changes will have impact on the problem, but it is the grace of God that really changes people, not political, not social, And even under those changes, the change is superficial. They do not change the heart of man.

I am not sure when this relentless pursuit of going after the errant behaviour of priests, bishops, popes will result to your satisfaction.

As much as I sympathize with you cause I am wondering when do you think will this happen?

However, unintentionally on

your part, this demoralized many who have weak in faith.

Is JD Vance gay? I notice a lot of conservative influencers are allegedly turning Catholic. Makes me wonder… are they using being Catholic as a beard?

I think you should be questioning the sexual orientation of popes and bishops who cover up the homosexual predation of teenage boys and vulnerable seminarians. I doubt that a beard denotes homosexuality.

I don't think you got te Reagans point. I think a beard in this case is a cover used to make people think I've is Catholic (or conservative) when isn't.

And yes Peter thiel, big benefactor of trump and Vance, is homosexual along with his "husband".
