Catholics don’t want the truth because Catholics have been conditioned to give blind loyalty and deference to a clerical class that manipulates the sacraments to accrue power to itself. They’ve also been conditioned to believe a lot of theology about priests that is nothing more than superstitious legalism. Clerical sex abuse destroys both those illusions and any moral credibility the clerical class has.

And…we can never forget how much money dioceses paid out to all the victims who had to sign non-disclosure agreements to get paid. I never asked for anything from any of these dioceses where priests abused me. All they offered was pay for counseling. Too bad I didn’t sue all of them. Now I just live the pain and the horrible memories.

Long past due to sweep out the filth !

I pointed out to Arroyo (aka Pee wee Herman's doppelganger) when he featured his "co host" ( fr ) Robert Sirico , president and founder of the Acton Economic think tank, who was a cheer leader for "unfettered free trade" with ( communist) China because it is good for Americans.

Then a Chinese Catholic dissident who spent years and years in a Communist Chinese prison because his parents were identified as Catholic. he started a foundation in DC to make people aware. Arroya responded by telling me it just went to show that EWTN reports on all sides?

Stupid!

The Catholic League was always a joke ,especially when you read what it's President took for his salary. The worst was when he criticized child victims of clerical abuse as delinquents. Later in another interview he insisted the abuses were "all in the past".

Catholic media has always been abysmal and just an arm of the Bishops.

Bill Donahue is far from perfect but at least he acts as a voice for falsely accused priests. SNAP, by contrast, are no help to them at all, so it appears they go to the other extreme.

M Henry's avatar

You could say the same about many of the Bishops and their Diocesan lawyers. Who needs Donahue a known liar who over a decade ago collected a salary of over $300,000.00 ?

The one thing SNAP was good for was to give victims a collective voice.

Well, give SNAP credit where credit is due. They have helped victims in a big way, mind you, David Clohessy and Barbara Blaine have also been accused of lying.

In working with SNAP, you need to know that you're working with survivors, many who suffer from PTSD. Most of the male survivors were "turned" by homosexual priests into homosexuals and would not abuse like they were abused. Those males who married often have marital problems stemming from their clerical homosexual abuse. Members of SNAP need our prayers.

Well said Gene! It has taken me a long time to see through the disinformation and realize the truth. The election of Prevost was the straw that broke the camels back and so I have decided to act.

We are at a major cross roads in the Church. Prevost, who was invalidly elected is a twice accused pedophile protector who if not removed will permit or even promote the spread of the culture of sex abuse throughout the Church. I encourage everyone to support Brother Alexis Brugnolo'a Save Rome project!

Suburban Catholic parish pews are less than a quarter full any given Sunday. Why attend Mass when priests and bishops appear not to actually believe Roman Catholic teaching, and limit their practice to the church Sanctuary on Sundays? Seems half of those parishioners who do attend Sunday Mass do so more for social than religious comfort. Sodomy, "the sin that dare not speak its name," is now celebrated as a social good by the Affluent White Female Liberals (AWFLS) who quietly proxy for pastors and bishops as the true administrators and decision makers in the Church. Would the cowards and homosexuals, both open and closeted, posing as our shepherds get away with their effeminate carousing and/or their sexual crimes against the Church and the public without the politically correct cover provided by the Karen-coiffed ladies who hold the actual power in the Church today? I submit that they would not. Father Gomulka, I read your Substack faithfully. I share in the outrage, having a son who was essentially shown the door at a major seminary for reporting the disgusting, perverted sexual misconduct of his long serving and "highly respected" priest spiritual director. Our family has seen the rotting molding filth from the inside. The captains running the ship have made a demonic pact of silence with the rats who are eating the food stores and infecting the crew with plague. Despite the leftist crocodile tears over sexual abuse in the Church, it's the woke liberal AWFLs providing cover for the clerical sodomites by playing along with the "pedophile priest" myth as cover for the "homosexual priest" truth. Week after week, you name the same clerical names guilty of the abuses and coverups. But these "men" are shielded from all criticism by the homosexual-worshiping media and the legions of hangers on who extract money, prestige - or both - by their public affiliation with the "majesty of the Church." As long as the empowered enablers remain entrenched in the chanceries and rectory offices, the wolves in shepherd's clothing are safe and protected. The will to purge and prosecute is simply not there. But we still know who wins in the end. Only by the intervention of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and all the angels and saints, will your your investigations and reporting succeed. I commend you for continuing to fight the good fight, and I pray for you and for our Church. Thank you for permitting my petty rant here. Pray for the Church.

No surprise that your son was forced out of seminary by the perverts. Years ago Fr David Marsden wrote an open letter on the gay cliques at Oscott Seminary (north east edge of Birmingham, England). His credibility was enhanced by the appalling British libel laws. If any of his accusations were false, he could face financial ruin.

https://www.corrispondenzaromana.it/international-news/an-open-letter-to-the-bishops-of-england-wales-and-scotland/

As far as I know, no one sued. But people felt free to deny his accusations.

https://www.newwaysministry.org/2018/11/12/catholics-reject-accusations-that-homosexual-clique-is-running-the-church/

Fr David was particularly concerned that one of the spiritual directors at Oscott was homosexual. This was a disastrous appointment, giving huge influence to a man advising future priests.

You will be glad to hear that the cowardly and compromised Canon Oakley is no longer rector. He is now Bishop of Northampton.

If an organization is corrupt and evil, then it will by definition resist and react badly to actual truth. When one considers the Truth, evil finds this very revolting. In short the bishops define themselves by their actions and omissions. What is truly sad is God asks us to trust in Him and His Mercy. These men have no trust in God but trust in the power, money and prestige of their office. An office that they dishonor, defile and abuse.

Compare the original apostles, their lives, their sacrifices to today's media elite bishops. The Church Militant must take responsibility for this. We stayed silent. We have not demanded faithful shepherds. We have not demand the truth. We have not demanded the failed, sick, bent, evil and mentally ill bishops be removed. For the Church will be renewed by the people in the pews that belong to and love God. We must pray, fast and sacrifice for good priests and beg our Queen to drive every evil from the Bride of Christ.

As a very old cradle Catholic, it never crossed my mind that a priest could say anything but the truth. About 20 years ago when the Internet had so much information, and I read a lot, did I see how wrong my mindset was. Catholics need to love the Church and see that the hierarchy is not the Church. I pray constantly that God cleanses the people running the church because it will take divine intervention. Thank you for helping us stay on track.

Dear Monsignor Gomulka,

Your clarion call in WHY SOME CATHOLICS CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH strikes like a thunderbolt, and your like on our Divine Reckoning expose warms the heart of this Maronite warrior. As a descendant of the 20,000-30,000 slaughtered in 1860, I salute your courage—24 years in uniform, now wielding truth against the “Lavender Mafia” and Francis’ deceits. Your exposé of McElroy’s sham installation and the media’s silence mirrors our cry against Pachamama’s lewd mockery and predator priests . The Church’s rot—330,000 abused in France —demands the Father’s fire (Leviticus 10:1-2), not Synodality’s fog.

You’re right—Catholics “pay and obey” while bishops bury Doyle’s 1985 report and your 2024 findings. The Kansas City Star’s 2000 AIDS revelation and Mahoney’s $880 million cover-up prove it. Your stand, like Viganò’s, is the elect’s shield (Matthew 24:22)—without it, we’d be destroyed. The 21 Councils and 2 Timothy 2:15’s truth back us, while Vatican II’s drift blinds the “learned.” God’s covenant with Isaac (Genesis 17:21) blesses your witness (Deuteronomy 32:7), rejecting deception—prayer (Micah 6:8) is our weapon. Keep roaring, Monsignor—time’s short (Matthew 24:44). The remnant rises with you! Ooooh-rahh!

I’ll admit to being one of those people who can’t handle the truth. I suppose that is part of the reason why I tried to make people aware of falsely accused priests such as Monsignor William McCarthy. I want to believe that some Catholic bishops are trying to stamp out the problem, but are going too far to the other extreme.

😂😂😂 I would say, Catholics knows the Truth further sure. It’s you Pagans can’t take it for what it is. Catholic will never leave the Holy Church of Jesus Christ, because, no sinner will ever make its Sacraments unholy. Simply non possible. No salvation outside the Roman Catholic Church.

Very interesting. I would say in my experience and my Catholic circles, this is understood quite well as a stain on the Church. I was speaking recently with a Catholic and pointed out that the worst news seems to be on a macro level and more focus and attention is not on the great things happening in small local parishes.
