Last night I had a discussion at dinner when we talked about how some Catholilc laity have reported "destabilization" that ordinarily refers to how straight priests feel uncomfortable living and working with clergy who are almost all homosexuals. The lay person said some Catholic parents also feel that their homosexual pastors don't seem to "connect" with them and their children. I believe this is a reason for the loss of straight seminarians, priests, and laity with families. Thanks for passing on my articles.

Great article once again, Fr. Gene. Your observations never fail to be insightful I think not only because your writing is so classically constructed ( 45 yr English Comp teacher here ) but even more so because your facts are so detailed and verifiable ( also a 40 yr. attorney here because you can't raise a family on a Catholic School teacher's salary alone ). I thank you as I lament both the news today that the Vatican has ordered all dioceses NOT to publish the names of credibly accused priests and as we here in Cincy have been assigned a new Archbishop who as a priest was accused of sexual misconduct with a boy, said to be an "unfounded" charge. So that gives us, in our last 4 Ordinaries, Bernardin with a "retracted" charge, same with our new one, Casey, plus Daniel Pilarczyk who was the first bishop to plead guilty to failing to report numerous priest predators in 2003, and Scnurr, who claimed to have not been told anything by his Auxuliary, Joseph Binzer, about Fr. Geoff Drew who pled guilty to 9 counts of rape of a 10 yr old boy ! Are we in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati some kind of a dumping ground ?

Hi Ger,

Thanks for your kind words.

I wrote this recently: "Why do reporters like Christopher White publish articles about Bishop Weisenburger (See: https://www.ncronline.org/vatican/vatican-news/pope-francis-taps-arizonas-bishop-weisenburger-new-detroit-archbishop) that don't mention one word about all the abuse he covered up in Oklahoma City and Tucson? It's just like the mainstream and Catholic media in 2013 that never reported all the abuse Francis covered up in Argentina that was reported by Martin Boudot (See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9r5M7AEaTk).

Cupich who serves on the Dicastery for Bishops will continue to fill places like Detroit, Cincinnati, and even Washington with his gay friends. Most of the media will ignore the homosexual predation these appointees either engaged in or covered up. And people wonder why more and more Catholics are voting with their feet in dioceses throughout the U.S.

S/F, Gene

Sadly, Cincy isn't a dumping ground but par for the course for the Church under Francis, his appointed Cardinals, and his Bishops (generally-speaking) he has put in place. What I see happening across the U.S. is that the leftist-globalists in government across the nation have figured out that the Church under Francis is aligned with their demonic alphabet agenda. So, the states' attorneys general whose governments lean politically left have quietly stopped prosecuting the guilty and persecuting the clergy.

I honestly don’t think it matters whom the Vatican elects because whoever replaces Francis is going to continue the embrace of globalist, materialist, utopianism that started at the Second Vatican Council. That embrace has done more to compromise Catholic moral credibility than anything else. It’s the main reason why Francis values environmental sustainability, and economic redistribution over anything having to do with the faith.

Pope Benedict, the ostensible, theological conservative, actually promoted this globalist approach in his encyclical, Caritas in Veritate. Read that and then read the United Nations‘s sustainable development goals. Outside of sexual issues, there really is no difference.

It dawned on me the other day that what might actually be happening is that Francis' desire to have a report of pedophile priests is not to get rid of those priests, but to have a credible excuse to get rid of any conservative bishops who had those priests under their charge. Why else would he be allowing the James Martins to run wild while elevating the McElroys and Dolans to college of Cardinals to stack the vote in the next conclave?

Thanks, Father Gomulka. The secular media and the Catholic media might have withheld judgement when Pope Francis said "Who am I to judge?" Happily Lutheran Satire were prepared to mercilessly mock his words. It shows what deep **** we are in when the Lutherans are more Catholic than the Pope.

Interestingly, the Missouri Synod Evangelical Lutheran Church here in State College, PA is more pro-family, pro-life, and stronger in their belief in the Real Presence than the three Catholic congregations. Also, unlike the three Catholic priests who are homosexually oriented, the Lutheran pastor is married with children.

I agree, Fr Gene. My good friend in Rome is an LCMS pastor and they won't let you take Communion unless you have gone through solid catechesis on the Real Presence.

Thank you, Fr. Gene. The truth is refreshing, however full of sorrows it is. Question: why have the victims of JB’s sexual abuse—mentioned previously by yourself and Abp. Vigano) in Argentina—not come forward? I listened to Robert Moynihan and Fr. Murr’s most recent discussion of Abp. Viganò’s most recent public statement, wherein he reiterates the accusation. (I mentioned you in the show comments…you might want to comment yourself. If you haven’t seen this edition of Ubi et Orbi, I placed the link below.)

I can’t believe there is not proof of these accusations, and that Vigano would have reiterated them if there were no proof. I understand there are privacy and other considerations, including fear…but without providing corroborating evidence, as Moynihan and Fr. Murr’s pointed out in this edition of Ubi et Orbi, it compromises Vigano’s entire statement, which is so critically important at this time. I would like to know your opinion.
