Father. You are correct. The Catholic Church is being destroyed from within by its corrupt leaders. I am a permanent Deacon and have been on indefinite leave of absence for 7 years now, for speaking out against homosexuals and transgenders. I have appealed to Rome, to the CFC, but to date, nothing has happened., even though the CFC said there are no restrictions on me. I am in the Diocese of Altoona Johnstown.

Monsignor,

Thank you for continuing to put the hard truths on the table when so many prefer silence.

The distinction you draw is essential: predators, active homosexuals, and those who are both are not the same category, and treating them as interchangeable only protects the system. Straight priests who leave or request transfer because they are surrounded by active homosexual clergy and pressure to conform are not failing celibacy — they are refusing to live inside a corrupted culture. That difference matters.

The cases you cite (Allen, Walawender, Briese, White, and others) follow the same pattern: the whistleblower or the straight priest who will not play along is the one who gets isolated, transferred, or threatened with laicization, while the network that created the problem remains protected. When the same hierarchy that fails to discipline credibly accused abusers moves aggressively against priests who document the misconduct, the priorities are no longer hidden.

You are also right that the laity are still largely kept in the dark. Most Catholics are told a story of isolated failures and “bad apples.” The reality you describe — grooming pipelines, preferential promotion, retaliation against those who speak, and a leadership culture that is heavily compromised — is far more systemic. Until that reality is faced, the hemorrhaging of healthy priests will continue and the trust of the faithful will keep eroding.

Appreciate you documenting what others will not. The work is necessary, even when it costs.

Semper Fi Brother and have a Blessed day Sir!!!
